Since the year 2000, 10,000 Palestinian children between the ages of 12 and 17 have been detained, prosecuted and incarcerated by the Israeli military in the occupied West Bank.

They’re picked up in the middle of the night, handcuffed and blindfolded, and interrogated – often violently – without any adults present. 

It is beyond what any child should have to withstand, and any person with an ounce of compassion would be outraged and sickened by it all.

It is unconscionable that U.S. military aid to Israel is enabling the Israeli military’s systematic abuse of Palestinian children – and Rep. Betty McCollum’s bill is how we can stop it. 

There’s unprecedented political support in Congress to stop putting Palestinian kids in cages. 
 
How a society treats children is a reflection of how it values human life at all. Israel’s treatment of Palestinian children is a reflection of the deepest disregard of the humanity of Palestinians.
